Meet Colleen McDermott
With a background in home improvement from working on the television show This Old House, I’ve developed a passion for the real estate industry and gained an eye for potential in every home. I am a South Shore native who lives on Cape Cod now, so I bring deep local knowledge of both areas. My past experience in production and publishing has honed my skills in organization, communication, and coordination – essential qualities in navigating real estate transactions. I spend much of my spare time exploring the local beaches with my dog, checking out different golf courses with my husband, and finding the best spots to post up with a latte and good book – all recommendations I am excited to share with potential clients. Colleen took the time to understand exactly what it was that I was looking for in a home - my list of "must haves". We toured numerous homes over a period of months before deciding on a beautiful property, one in which I will be spending my retirement years. She's very well-versed in the various towns and villages on the Cape, being a resident herself, and constantly offered commentary and details such as when certain roads get congested during the summer, and at certain points in the day, local open spaces (another must have) and nearby shopping areas. She didn't waste my time showing me properties that were not good candidates. And she kept the train on the tracks - making sure everything that needed to be done, from the offer to the closing, was done completely and on time. Colleen made what could be a very stressful experience a very pleasant one.
Working with Colleen was an outstanding experience. She was super responsive, often answering questions and resolving issues at all hours, which gave us peace of mind throughout this process. Buying a home can be stressful, especially since we were unable to be present for part of the process, but Colleen managed every detail smoothly and kept everything moving forward with minimal stress on our end. Her knowledge of the area was helpful as we tried to figure things out. Colleen built a collaborative relationship with the sellers and their agent; that helped create a positive experience for everyone.
